Project SUNsHINE – Student UNion HappINEss

So here is project Sunshine’s communications team writing again. We are in the middle of our Monkey course now, four weeks behind and four weeks still ahead. This has been a real adventure for all of us. We have learned about project work, communication, budgeting, work in client oriented way and so much more. And all this in English! We have made some good friends and every Thursday we have so much fun together. That is amazing! J

We have 18 members working in our project. Everyone has their own professional skills. And on the top of that we have five eager exchange students from Czech Republic, Spain and Belgium. We have separated in smaller groups so that our work would be more effective. We have two project managers whose main job is to make sure that everyone knows our objectives and where our project is going. We have also a program team, a marketing team, a budget team and a communications team. Program team is responsible for the things we do in our wellbeing week and every week they have new ideas and they are planning more and more joyful things for our students to do.
Our marketing team has made a Facebook group for our project (check that out: https://www.facebook.com/project.sunshine1) and now they are making a Facebook event too. They have also made these bright and shiny yellow layouts that soon will become posters and table triangles. Budget team is obviously responsible for the money, how we can use it wisely. They have made some good deals with some authors so that we have more money to spend for something important but fun. And last but not least us, communications team. Our job is to get partners and sponsors to our project and we have to admit that we have done it well. So far we already have almost 20 sponsors to support our important work, wellbeing for TUAS students.
Next few weeks are going to be the most important weeks for our project. The most relevant thing is to advertise our wellbeing week for the students. Our job is to make the students understand and pay attention to their own wellbeing and how they could make it better. So we have to get participants to our happenings. That is one big problem because when we are in these campuses most of the time the students will be on lessons. So when they have free time it is our job to strike and catch the opportunity and make an influence. Luckily we have some great plans how to do that!

We think that we have managed well this far. We have a great, hardworking group and excellent ideas. Now we just have to find a balance between our ideas and practice. But we trust each other and we are sure that this wellbeing week will be a success! J
